So, I one first place at a baking contest at my church.  It was the annual Lasagna/Desert bakeoff...The men bake lasagna, the women make deserts.  I used a recipie I made up myself, just 'cause I was bored.  If my camera was functional, I would post a picture, but my keyboard desprately needed to borrow the batteries.  At this moment in poverty, typing wins out over photography :P

Anyhow, I made chocolate hazlenut creme tartlets...and I decorated the plater with rasberries and chocolate dipped strawberries...it looked quite pretty.  Maybe that's what won.  Presentation counts.

My sister got engaged on valentines day.  (Officially.  They've known they were getting married long enough that she has her dress picked out.  She just didn't have a ring.)  I think it's a little cliche it get engaged on v-day, but my boyfriend says guys do that so they'll remember the date.  Makes sense.  Of the minds of men

It's funny how silly little things can effect you.  Especially things that you thought were behind you.  I am so greatful for my boyfriend and my wonderful friends today   (And the fact that I consider a handful of almonds comfort food, because they're actually good for you :P)

I have been semi-nocturnal lately, and I have been trying to fix that.  I'm looking for a job, and I can't work nights.  I think I'll be doing a full 24-hours awake so I can sleep through the night...I keep just sleeping in through the day because it's easier, but then I don't get much done in the day.  Sunday would be a good day to do it, because I need to get up early anyhow.

I added a new picture to my album, and I set it as my profile picture so everyone would see it.  It's my family at Christmas time

Also, lately I have been job-hunting, only to find that I have decided to do so in the worst possible time of the year.  Despite my awesome new resume...hardly anyone is hiring.  Oh well, in a few months, lots of people will be

I'm going out to dinner tonight with some people from church.  I usually can't afford to eat out...that and why go out to eat alone?  But I was invited out so it's a rare treat

My therapist gave me some Chinese stress balls for Christmas   I still need to make the gift tags for my presents...and keep the cats away.  I think mum is going to buy me a new printer.  I asked her to get me ink, but when I tried to tell her what kind I needed she didn't seem to want to know.  I really don't know what else I could be getting.  I think everyone will like what I got them
